Extinguisher training has come to an end for the 2023 season.
If you are interested in setting up an extinguisher class or training for 2024 or would like more information, please reach out to Shane Zwettler at 608-235-5603, shane@jeffersonfire.com, or by filling out the below form.
a little about the training
This training consists of two parts:
The first part is a presentation that walks the attendees through important information about extinguishers. Including the different classes of extinguishers, how and when to use an extinguisher, and when to evacuate the room.
The second is the hands-on portion. We provide extinguishers for the attendees to practice the PASS steps that get covered in the presentation section prior.
Past trainings
Our founder, E.L. Jefferson, began the journey of fire and safety for Jefferson Fire & Safety with fire extinguishers back in the 1920's. In 1975, Pete Jefferson learned the business the same way his grandfather and father did: with extinguishers. Pete led extinguisher trainings throughout the years before passing it on to our service department, and extinguisher trainings became what they are today!
We have been holding extinguisher trainings for 20 years, starting around April each year. One of our service technicians is the instructor for the class and puts on between 6 and 8 classes each season.
We prefer to keep classes under 30 people, as it makes it possible to get an extinguisher in everyone's hands.
In the past, we have done these training classes with a variety of companies, including the healthcare industry as well as industrial facilities.
