Fire Alarm Testing and Repair

For After Hours Service Page A Technician
608-376-1486.

Lives are at stake!  Your fire alarm system will only operate properly if it is maintained and some impairments will not be obvious without testing!  Testing is done to meet the requirements of your local building department, fire inspectors, and even your insurance carrier.  Your insurance carrier may reject your claim if you do not have proof of completed annual inspections.  Testing can also assure that the system does not create nuisance alarms that waste Fire Department resources, this could put others’ lives in jeopardy and many jurisdictions will charge the building owner for multiple nuisance alarms.

The biggest reason of all, it is required by the National Fire Alarm Code! (NFPA 72)---- IT'S THE LAW.
Fire Alarm Testing
As a building owner/business owner, it is important for you to have designated persons with some knowledge of the fire alarm system.  At the very least these people should be able to recognize when the system is impaired, understand how to reset the system, and know when to call for service.  Building maintenance personnel or other trained people are often able to do visual inspections but yearly extensive testing must be done by a qualified state licensed inspector.

You will need a copy of the completed Inspection and Testing Form for yourself and your insurance carrier.  Fire alarm systems are expected to help protect people, property, and assets.  But you can’t tell if they’re fully operational just by looking at them. As with any other system, electronics and other components can degrade over time and compromise the system’s operation.  Dust, dirt, and other contaminants can cause problems with smoke detectors. Such things as vandalism, remodeling, and improper maintenance procedures can also damage fire protection equipment.  The good news is that with proper testing, inspection, and maintenance you can keep your fire alarm system at optimum operating performance.  In addition to ensuring protection, keeping your system in good condition reduces expenses by preventing unbudgeted emergency repairs and costly false alarms.

When properly installed and maintained, fire systems have proven to be the most effective means for protecting life and property against fire.  Thus, it is imperative that alarm systems operate and function properly.  In order to ensure that alarm systems are functioning correctly, state law requires that such systems be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and be repaired or replaced when they are found to be defective.

Jefferson Fire & Safety believes that safeguarding the personal welfare of your employees is of paramount importance. If there’s a single system most critical for this safety it would have to be an integrated fire alarm and sprinkler program, the lifeblood of any fire protection program.

Contact Scott Storch to schedule the testing or repair of your Fire Alarm system.  Scott can be reached by calling our office at 800-697-3473, calling his cell at 608-575-5379 or emailing him.

"I just wanted to tell you how great it is, to work with Brian.  He's here, today, doing our annual inspection and is a pleasure to work with.  He is extremely knowledgeable, personable and very co-operative, when it comes to working with our schedule.  He is a real asset to your company.  I greatly appreciate your services.  I live on property and safety is a top priority.  Also, Debbie, who answered the phone, was extremely pleasant, too.  Great company!  Thank you."
